The Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection is a remarkable collection of textiles and costumes of artistic, cultural and historic interest. The collection is named for Helen Louise Allen, a professor from 1927 until 1968, who, as an expert in the history of textiles, weaving and embroidery sowed the seeds of this collection with her own that had been used in her instruction. The open house will feature a display of textiles and costumes in conjunction with the Madison World Music Festival.
