This introductory GIS workshop is designed to teach users how to construct a customized thematic map displaying demographic statistics from the U.S. Census. The workshop includes an overview of GIS concepts and practices along with an explanation of TIGER/Line boundary files and census population data--accompanied by hands-on experience with ArcView 9 software.
