New! CSA Illustrata: Natural Sciences

CSA Illustrata: Natural Sciences provides search-able access to the data from indexed tables, figures, maps, graphs, charts and other images that accompany scholarly articles from more than 1,000 journals.

Indexed journals include titles from such subject areas as agriculture, conservation, earth sciences, environmental studies, food and food industries, forestry, geography, pharmacy and pharmacology, public health and safety, veterinary science, and water resources.

CSA Illustrata can be searched independently or as an additional search feature within other CSA Illumina databases. When using another CSA Illumina database, select the tab for "Tables & Figures.”

CSA Illumina databases familiar to many Steenbock users include:

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals
Ecology Abstracts
Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management
Human Population and Natural Resource Management

New! GreenFILE Database

GreenFILE provides searchable access to the contents of scholarly, government and popular-interest reports and periodical literature treating topics such as global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling and more.

Some full-text article access is supplied within the database; Find It buttons link to additional campus library holdings or document delivery options (Library Express).

Job Hunting (Workshop, June 18)

Discover resources and strategies for job hunting on the Internet/Web. The workshop will cover resume writing resources, databases for job postings, tips for finding non-advertised jobs, and methods for researching potential employers. There will be time for hands-on exploration.

Google for Academic Research (Workshop, June 18)

Power search with Google to remove clutter and quickly locate quality resources!

This workshop will give you hands-on practice using Google, Google Scholar, Google Patents, and Google Book Search. You will also learn to use Find It and Refworks with Google Scholar and to evaluate your search results to get the best information from the Web.
