CURB Project Remodeling, Steenbock Library

Steenbock Library will benefit from CURB remodeling during the next year. The project replaces our air handling units and upgrades the air delivery and control system using a Variable Air Volume system.

The work will begin in December 2005 and will proceed as follows:
December 2005 - February 2006 (Third Floor), February - April 2006 (First Floor), May - August 2006 (Second Floor), and September - December 2006 (Fourth Floor).

During the repair period, the ceiling, lights and much of the air ducting system will be replaced. This will create noise, dust and inconvenience. Library staff members will do what they can to reduce these problems, but some may be unavoidable. Staff from Steenbock's Circulation Desk will provide earplugs to help with the noise, and library staff will shroud work areas to limit dust. As needed, Circulation staff will retrieve materials from areas that are closed to the public.

Please direct any questions, comments or concerns to Bob Sessions, the Steenbock Library building manager.

Keep on Top of the Literature!

Would you like to receive regular email messages that supply you with new citations on a topic of interest? If so, then consider email alerting services. Many of the library's databases to the research literature permit you to automate a search that will pull citations when the database is updated--that is, when new content has been added.

Come speak with a liaison librarian if you would like assistance with selecting a database alerting service or with constructing the search strategy.
