Browsing the Stacks, Online

As items that are similar in topic will have similar call numbers (and can be located together in campus libraries), you can use those call numbers to browse for other items of interest using the MadCat catalog.

Run a MadCat search for a topic (or specific title) of interest. From that item’s record, copy the call number.

Choose to run a search by "Call Number Browse" from MadCat’s basic search interface. Enter the call number into the search box and click search. You will be presented with other titles within that call number range.

Clicking on a title will display a detailed record from which you can confirm location and availability.

For more information, see: http://madcat.library.wisc.edu/help/search2c.htm
For assistance, consult with a librarian at the Information Services desk, second floor, Steenbock Library or phone 262-9635.
