Users of Google Scholar will be pleased to note that retrieval will now include a link to Find It at UW Madison. If you are using Google Scholar from an on-campus location, following the Find It at UW Madison link will map you to local holdings for the particular item—either in full-text online or as available in print from campus libraries.
If you are using Google Scholar from off-campus, select Scholar Preferences from the Google Scholar search page, and type the name of your library in the Library Links space. Click Save Preferences in order to generate an active Find It at UW Madison link. (Do note that selecting a link to a full-text article from off-campus will require you to login with your UW Madison ID number and last name). CURB Project Remodeling, Steenbock Library
Steenbock Library will benefit from CURB remodeling during the next year. The project replaces our air handling units and upgrades the air delivery and control system using a Variable Air Volume system.
The work will begin in December 2005 and will proceed as follows:
December 2005 - February 2006 (Third Floor), February - April 2006 (First Floor), May - August 2006 (Second Floor), and September - December 2006 (Fourth Floor).
During the repair period, the ceiling, lights and much of the air ducting system will be replaced. This will create noise, dust and inconvenience. Library staff members will do what they can to reduce these problems, but some may be unavoidable. Staff from Steenbock's Circulation Desk will provide earplugs to help with the noise, and library staff will shroud work areas to limit dust. As needed, Circulation staff will retrieve materials from areas that are closed to the public.
Please direct any questions, comments or concerns to Bob Sessions, the Steenbock Library building manager.
