Friends Book Sale (Nov 7-10)

In conjunction with the Wisconsin Book Festival, the Friends of UW-Madison Libraries will host a used book sale, November 7-10, 2012 in Room 116 of Memorial Library.

A preview sale, with $5.00 admission, will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7. The regular sale, which is open to all at no charge, will be held from 10:30 AM until 7:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, November 8-9.

On Saturday, November 10 (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM), you can bring a bag and fill it for $4.00.

Everything has a Story, WBF (Nov 7-11)

Feeling a bit lost and looking to find a great read to bring you home?  If so, discover what you have been missing by seeking out the annual Wisconsin Book Festival.

The theme for the book festival this year is that of "lost and found" and how writers and their readers might interpret what are often deeply personal instances of either condition. 

Featured authors include: Ayad Akhtar, Jerry Apps, Dean Bakopoulos, Kambri Crews, Edwidge Danticat, Beverly Gordon, Patricia McCormick, Michael Perry, and Richard Russo among many others.

Do also plan to visit College Library's Open Book Cafe on Saturday (November 10) for an exhibit of printed matter including posters, stickers, zines, journals and books.  This "Dane County Print Explosion" is sponsored by the Wisconsin Book Festival, the Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative and College Library.  For more information, click here.

The Friends of UW-Madison Libraries will host its 33rd semi-annual used book sale, April 11-14, in Room 116 of Memorial Library.

A preview sale, with $5.00 admission, will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, April 11. The regular sale, which is open to all at no charge, will be held from 10:30 AM until 7:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, April 12-13.

On Saturday, April 14 (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM), you can bring a bag and fill it for $3.00.

The Friends of UW-Madison Libraries will host a used book sale, March 25-28, in Room 116 of Memorial Library.

A preview sale, with $5.00 admission, will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25. The regular sale, which is open to all at no charge, will be held from 10:30 AM until 7:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, March 26-27.

On Saturday, March 28 (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM), you can bring a bag and fill it for $3.00. Between 1:05-2:00 PM, remaining books are free.

Ebling Book Sale (October 23-24)

Ebling Library will hold its annual book sale, Thursday, October 23 (from 8:00 AM -5:00 PM) and Friday, October 24 (from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM) in the Historical Reading Room (third floor, Ebling Library). Bargains are to be found on out-of-date anatomy, clinical, nursing and pharmacy books, and reasonably priced 19th and early 20th century collectibles—including texts of the history of the health sciences.

The Friends of UW-Madison Libraries will host a used book sale October 15-18 in Room 116 of Memorial Library.

A preview sale, with $5.00 admission, will be held from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, October 15. The regular sale, which is open to all at no charge, will be held from 10:30 AM until 7:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, October 16-17.

On Saturday, October 18 (10:30 AM – 1:00 PM), you can bring a bag and fill it for $3.00. Between 1:05-2:00 PM, remaining books are free.

Care to donate? Donations of books, CDs, LPs and videos can be made any time during the year by leaving them in the Open Return book drops at campus libraries. Materials can also be dropped off at the Lake Street loading dock of Memorial Library between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM weekdays.
